The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) is an interferometric array of 66 radio antennas in the Atacama Desert of Chile, operating at millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths. It images protoplanetary disks, molecular clouds, and the cold dust emission of distant galaxies with extraordinary resolution.
