Stellar Aberration

Stellar aberration is the apparent displacement of a star's position caused by the combination of the observer's velocity (Earth's orbital motion) and the finite speed of light. This produces an apparent annual elliptical shift of up to 20.5 arcseconds (annual aberration), first explained by James Bradley in 1729.
