Hot Jupiter

A hot Jupiter is a gas giant exoplanet orbiting very close to its host star, typically within 0.1 AU, with surface temperatures exceeding 1,000 K. The first exoplanet around a Sun-like star, 51 Pegasi b, is a hot Jupiter.
