Dark Nebula

A dark nebula is a dense cloud of gas and dust that blocks the light from background stars or emission nebulae, appearing as an absence of light. The Horsehead Nebula and Coalsack are famous examples; they often harbor dense cores that will eventually collapse to form new stars.
