Neutrino Detector

Astronomical neutrino detectors observe neutrinos produced in energetic astrophysical events such as supernovae, gamma-ray bursts, and active galactic nuclei. IceCube, a cubic-kilometre detector embedded in Antarctic ice, has detected high-energy neutrinos of astrophysical origin, opening the neutrino sky.
