Spiral Galaxy

Spiral galaxies are disk-shaped galaxies characterized by a central bulge and curved arms of young stars, gas, and dust emanating from the disk. The Milky Way and Andromeda are both spiral galaxies; they contain ongoing star formation and represent the most photogenic galaxy morphology.
