Magnetar

Magnetars are a rare class of neutron stars with extraordinarily strong magnetic fields, up to 10^15 gauss — a thousand times stronger than ordinary pulsars. They produce intense X-ray and gamma-ray flares and are thought to be the sources of some fast radio bursts.
